When an individual is accused of a serious crime, he or she may have an out-of-control train of thought as to how to deal with the situation. Individuals who have been charged with sex offenses may wonder whether entering a guilty plea could be the best option or whether defending their innocence may be better suited for their circumstances. In any case, the situation can be overwhelming and gathering information on the issue may be prudent.

One man in Colorado may be hoping to gain helpful knowledge about his situation after he was taken into custody. It was reported that the man was accused of sexually assaulting a student at the school where the man taught. It was reported that the man was 45 years old and that the student was 13 at the time the alleged incidents began.

It is claimed that there were multiple instances over the course of several months involving the teacher and student. Charges of sexual assault were filed against the man the day after being taken into custody. It was not clear at the time of the report what legal strategies the man may wish to utilize.

Individuals who have been accused of sex offenses likely want to take their situations very seriously. Exploring and assessing the available legal options pertaining to such a case may help an individual determine the most appropriate way of moving forward. It is important to remember that all parties are presumed innocent until — and only if — proven guilty in a Colorado court of law.
