Theft is usually at its highest peak during holiday season. A Colorado couple was arrested for theft after being accused of stealing a large amount of Christmas decorations from multiple homes. They allegedly used the stolen decorations for their own display.

Reports indicate that a neighbor noticed his decorations were in the couple’s yard as he was driving around. Authorities obtained a search warrant and discovered a significant amount of Christmas decorations that were allegedly stolen. In addition to the decorations found, the couple purportedly informed authorities that they, in fact, stole them. Both were arrested and the husband was still being held in jail at last report. The wife claims that she had nothing to do with the theft.

Police say that the wife informed them that she noticed that more decorations were showing up in their yard after her husband took walks, but she did not know where they came from. Allegedly, the wife also confronted the husband about his actions, and he purportedly said that he did not care if he hurt other people. This is not the first time the husband faced theft charges, and he was previously arrested after he allegedly stole Halloween decorations.

The husband and wife’s theft charges are felonies, and if convicted, they could spend a substantial amount of time behind bars. In spite of the husband’s previous criminal conduct, these are just accusations at this point. He and his wife have every right to fight charges lodged against each of them. Both are presumed innocent until and unless proved guilty. An experienced criminal defense attorney in Colorado can go over all options and help determine the best way to proceed.
