Traffic accidents occur on a regular basis along Colorado roadways. Something happens and a driver misjudges a situation or becomes distracted and there is a collision. Along with such an unfortunate incident comes the damage to the cars and the possible injury to the drivers and passengers involved in the accident. In many cases, police investigate the accident in an attempt to determine exactly what happened and if drunk driving was involved.
Recently, a car and pickup truck collided during early morning hours, causing the traffic intersection to be closed for approximately five hours. The driver of the pickup truck was traveling north. Reports indicate that the driver of the car is believed to have run into the truck injuring the truck's driver. The driver of the truck was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
After an initial investigation, police arrested the 26-year-old driver of the car. The charges against her include vehicular assault as well as other traffic related charges. Additionally, reports indicate that they believe alcohol was a contributing factor. However, no indication of how this conclusion was reached has been made public.
The potential loss of one's Colorado driver's license or even freedom is a frightening proposition. Charges of drunk driving are a serious matter. Whenever a Colorado resident is facing such a situation, he or she will want to seek guidance from an experienced legal team. This team will be able to review the situation and the evidence to determine the best course of action in a particular case.
